Random thoughts

  • A few random thoughts I have found along the way this year. If you have a question, call me. A few of them will warrant an explanation or drawing, I am sure=) It is probably best we canceled tonight...black ice is on the roads={
  • Check these out, I personally love the cylinder/trees/ with cookies that hang from the branches, it would be really cute and add much height. I will have to draw it...
  • Do you have access to anyone's land for cutting limbs or such? Just thinking=)

Candle Thoughts

heart candle with flame

JB--Cute, if you have the time. Great for a bride on a budget. Could use any motif appropriate for the bride's taste-- doves, flowers, polka dots, high heels and top hats... Cute.

Crepe Paper Wind Socks

  • I saw this in my mom's magazine. I need to write it down before I forget=) I have also something similar to this made of various widths/and shades of polyester ribbon in a reception magazine (some were hung on a straight rod and some on a circular piece(hula hoop)--hung over the cake table, pulled back like curtains. It was beautiful).
  • It would be so cute to hang a s a chandelier in a baby's room, at party/shower, or a wedding--just sprinkle with a short strand of white Christmas lights inside the ribbon/hoop.
  • 4 rolls of crepe paper complimenting colors
  • 2 Large embroidery hoops (wooden)
  • Staple gun
  • Matching ribbon, kite string, fishing line, or dental floss--guessing 4 yds.

Cut lengths of ribbon at the same or varying lengths--your choice
On the inside of the hoop, staple one end of the crepe paper to the wood, allowing the crepe papers finished edge to come over the top of the hoop, and crepe paper tails hanging down).
Continue adding crepe paper tails, varying colors until wooden hoop is covered and fullness is to your liking.

Using 3 ribbons/kite string/white dental floss...
Tie one string around the hoop. Moving to the remaining two sides, working in thirds, continue tying the other 2 strings around the hoop, make sure it is level. Then tie the 3 stings together at their ends and hang on the porch, off low branches, or over a table--they were so cute grouped together.

Cute place cards

Pew Markers

  • I thought these were cute. They were Mary's idea, and they were just darling.
  • Used for pew markers
  • I have also seen these in a wedding magazine. They were placed in a large cute basket filled with tissue paper to keep them from falling over.
  • Can use for party favors, candy holders for parties, teacher gifts--homemade treats

Something in My Mind--

  • This is copied from my blog, it is from a while back. I love this thought. Don't think me crazy, I have seen this on many wedding shows. It would be very pretty and very tall, and prob. not much money--
  • Do you still have your sister's aisle runner?

  • Note to self:
  • I like the polka dot option.
  • I have thought of this before. Talked to C. about it. I think you could use pvc pipe/even coffee cans and cover it to make large floral arrangements.
  • Concrete or perhaps salt pellets (*if they were glass/clear--due to white color and very inexpensive-Lowe's/Home Depot) in the base (of pvc pipes) to support the weight.
  • Vellum would be cute. Or an aisle runner cloth--save $ for mass projects.
  • This would be so cute with large white twigs painted white with icicles/chandelier bobbles/ornaments/silver bells/favors/ sugar cookies hanging from the branches. It would be about 3-??? feet tall.

Cute thoughts

  • I think these are really cute. I have seen them in all white. I was wondering what you thought about this or another papery theme, to use a a filler. They don't have to be this whimsical. Just thought they were cute, thought I would share.

  • Are these like the vases you are borrowing from your friend?
  • If not, I can see if Becky's mom still has her's, they were just like this and from the Dollar General. Very cute cubes.
  • I have some large cubes--we used them at your sis's wedding, do you remember?
  • We could probably mix the silver and the cubes, but not much more than that as far as c-pieces go. You don't want to add too much. These are pretty.

Flowers for cake and decorations

Decorations

Pink calla lilies in a vase for center pieces on tables at reception w/ a pink candle on each side. I think this would be cute w/ 2 goldfish
I would like dark pink and light pink rose pedals scattered across the table. Just a thought.

Bride's flowers

Suggestions--

  • Hey, these are beautiful!
  • Funny, this is exactly what I was going to hunt for you.
  • You like the very structured/geometric flower with a few soft edges.
  • Quite a lot of pics you have gathered--Great! I personally love the deep pinks with light pinks. So pretty.

  • As a suggestion, I would go into you layout and add the "label" gadget to your side bar (on the right), select it to sort alphabetically. You also have to go into the main blog post and select "show labels for this post."
  • From there, label posts accordingly, from there you will be able to categorize and find all pictures easily. You will just have to click Bridal Bouquet and all your bouquets you are pondering will come up. It is really neat! If you have bouquets that overlap (meaning for you and your bridesmaid, label them both in the post (1--Bridal Bouquet then a comma (,) then add 2--B/Party Bouquet) --both bouquets for you and your girls will come up together. It is a great way to organize and not have the paperwork!
  • Below I have listed these organizational labels, do with them what you wish=)
  • These don't have to be for just pictures, they can be actual to do lists for your wedding, which is great to organize them by site/type/theme. It will only sort numbers properly up to 9, from there you can switch over to letters--if you need to have that many categories.
  • It is nice, because you can simply click and all your thoughts regrading __________ come up and are before you. No notebook/folder required=) It is an awesome way to communicate, and more efficient than email.
